Community Conflict Transformation

Building Resilient Communities Through Local Peace Infrastructure

At SADRA Conflict Transformation, we believe that sustainable peace begins at the grassroots. Our Community Conflict Transformation Program is designed to equip community-based leaders and institutions with the tools, training, and networks they need to respond effectively to conflict, restore relationships, and build long-term social cohesion.

We work closely with:

Local government departments

Traditional and religious leaders

Civil society and community-based organizations

Counselors and development forums

Through this collaborative model, we help communities develop locally-owned peace strategies, grounded in values of inclusion, justice, and reconciliation.

Program Components

Conflict Analysis and Mapping

We train community members to identify conflict drivers and early warning signs within their local context. Our participatory conflict mapping process ensures that communities understand both the visible tensions and the deeper root causes of division.

Mediation and Dialogue Facilitation

Our certified trainers equip leaders with skills in mediation, facilitation, and dialogue, enabling them to act as first responders to interpersonal and intergroup conflicts before they escalate.

Leadership Capacity Building

We strengthen the leadership competencies of community stakeholders through training on transformational leadership, trauma-informed engagement, and inclusive decision-making.

Local Peace Committees

We support the establishment or revitalization of Local Peace Committees—community-based platforms that facilitate ongoing dialogue, monitor conflict trends, and engage key actors in problem-solving processes.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Through community feedback tools and field engagement, we track the program’s impact and adapt our methods to respond to evolving dynamics in each region.

Our Impact

Since its inception, the Community Conflict Transformation Program has:
